To capture the essence of another human being is an incredible challenge, but it is equally rewarding. In her traditional portrait paintings, Lisa looks to find that instant where the subject is relaxed and their character shows through in both pose and expression. Each portrait is intended to reflect the subject’s personality in addition to depicting their physical attributes. 

Lisa Larrabee earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the prominent Kansas City Art Institute where she graduated first in her class. She has won various design competitions and was published twice in both the Society of Illustrators Annual and CMYK Art Magazine. Lisa has also earned a Master of Education and is currently teaching watercolor, oil and acrylic painting classes at Pima Community College.
