BIOGRAPHY KATHY MEAD, Handmade Glass Bead & Jewelry Artist Kathy was born and raised in Georgia; however, she has lived for many years in beautiful Sedona, Arizona. She is a single mother and has an 18 year old son who is preparing for college. Also, a member of her family is “Otis” her small daschund, who has a mind of his own! About five years ago, Kathy’s friend purchased a glass studio in Sedona and she invited Kathy to take a look at it and spend some time there. When she did, she had what she calls a “cosmic” moment – with torch in hand, working the glass, she began to create beautiful blends of color and shape – at this moment, she knew this was a form of art that she was meant to do. She has produced the most beautiful glass beads and has created jewelry with the glass beads that is unique – every piece is an artistic original – not seen again anywhere else! Another interest of Kathy’s is writing fiction novels. She has taken some college courses in this endeavor and it is her desire to develop her skills in that arena. Presently, Kathy’s glass bead jewelry and handmade glass beads are on display at several locations: Quo Vadis, in Sedona; an art shop in Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts; and at Feminine Mystique Art Gallery, in Tubac, Arizona. Tubac is a vibrant art community, south of Green Valley and a wonderful place to spend the day enjoying art of all types and offering many choices of luncheon and dinner spots. |
