Jerome Art Walk wishes you a He-ART-full Valentines Day - Short Version

This February 2, 2008, Jerome’s First Saturday Art Walk welcomes you to travel on up the mountain for an evening with artists in their studios and galleries, scattered through this quaint town. From 5-8pm Jerome will be alive and bustling, galleries and studios will be open, showing off amazing collections of local, regional and national art. Just in time for Valentines Day, take the opportunity to find just the perfect he-ART-full gift for your love, or for yourself. Come early and eat in one of our many fine restaurants and stay to meander through town or take the free shuttle for an evening of art, music and food.

The Old Jerome High School is a destination that promises hours of interesting roaming, through studios, galleries and long hallways filled with beautiful art. Of particular interest this week will be the Hemleben Gallery, with two new florals .With the mild winter, the Iris's bloomed again in November and stayed till the first snow, moving Mark from his Canyon studies to the flowers on his doorstep.

Spring may not quite be here, but there is always a new hatch of Ceramic
animals in Janie Anderson's Old Jerome High School   Studio. Working
with clay, Janie animates a personality and qualities into forms that capture your heart. Two new paintings will make their appearance at Derryl Day's Studio. Both pieces are from Plein Air Studies gathered during camping trips with Mark Hemleben at Maricopa Point on the South
Rim.   The painters renamed this spot Plein Air Point during their two
10 day trips in 2007. The vast scenery makes for spectacular paintings not to be missed.

Things are always changing in Jerome. StahlKraft is the newest studio opening for Art Walk. This trio of artists located in the ‘Clubhouse’
on the upper level of Jerome has blended metal, wood and stained glass to create unique, architectural pieces of ‘art’ furniture. Located beside The Surgeon’s House, metal artist Dan Tharp, stained glass artist Susan Grace and wood maven, Todd Merloe will all be on hand to discuss their functional pieces ranging from a wine rack to a sleek bench with exotic wood seat. Custom design is their specialty, integrating lovely stained glass into table tops or rare wood into unexpected details.
Cody DeLong returns to the Jerome Grandview Gallery and will be painting in the gallery again for Art Walk evening. Cody created a beautiful painting during the December Art Walk and will be back again for Feb. to unveil his latest studio piece titled "Deeper in the Canyon" which is a 60" x 36". It's very dramatic so if you love landscapes, don't miss it.

Other highlights include Altai Leather’s new spring creations, Pura Vida’ chocolate and champagne Valentine reception, Gallery 527’s Dan Johnson’s 10’ outdoor sculpture, Jim Rome’s continuing show at the Jerome Artist Co-op, Rick Hernandez’s new location for his Jerome Jewelry Market at 114 Jerome Avenue, David Hall and Jane Moore of Made in Jerome with original ceramic creations and Spirit Art Gallery will feature local legend Dave Rentz and his ‘dotology’ art, his intriguing style of dotting found objects with extraordinary results.
